KARACHI: Declamation contest at DHA


KARACHI, Feb 6: An inter school declamation contest was held at Defence Authority Public School here on Tuesday. Fourteen schools participated in the contest. Ms Mehtab Akbar Rashdi, Secretary Culture and Youth Affairs, govt of Sindh was chief guest of the function.

Ms Rashdi emphasised that it was imperative to discover, shape and channelise the immense talent of youth into a tangible force.

In the English declamation contest, the first prize was bagged by Sarah Khan of Mama Parsi Girls School, while the second prize was won by Ahmed Ali of Foundation Public School. Third prize went to Jayyada Taimoor of Beacon House School. The consolation prize was given to Aiman Awais of St. Patrick’s School.

In Urdu Declamation, the first prize was won by S Baqar Mehdi of Habib Public School. The second position was bagged by Ahsan Ali Moosa of Defence Authority SKBZ College, while the third prize was won by Aysha Usman of St. Patrick’s High School. The consolation prize was given to Mohd Ammar Ali of Happy Home School (O Level).
