KARACHI, Feb 6: Security was beefed up at all important and sensitive buildings, including foreign missions and mosques, and armed patrolling was intensified in the city late on Tuesday night by the police following the bomb blast in Islamabad.
Capital City Police Officer Azhar Farooqui told Dawn that the extra-ordinary security steps had been taken to protect all possible targets, which included foreign missions and certain mosques.
“The DIG operation and all TPOs have been directed to beef up the security measure and the police and rangers have been put on high alert”, he said.
The city police chief said the police were taking all possible preventive measure in the wake of the bomb blast in Islamabad.
