BRIDGETOWN, Feb 5: The West Indies cricketers will have a training camp later this month as they prepare for the World Cup tournament starting next month in the Caribbean.
Coach Bennett King said: “We are trying to get organised before the World Cup and will be looking to get ready for the mega event. We are looking at Feb 22-28 as dates. We have not finalised the venue yet as we are waiting on some feedback.”
He added that the entire team would not be attending the camp, as some players might be playing in the Carib Beer Series final.
“We have a lot of stuff to put in place as we try to be among the best teams in the World Cup,” he noted. “We want to be as ready as we can be when the first ball is bowled.”
In the World Cup, the West Indies are drawn in Group D alongside Pakistan, Ireland and Zimbabwe and will play the opening round at Sabina Park, Jamaica. —Agencies
