Two boys killed as ‘dud’ explodes

By Our Correspondent

RAHIM YAR KHAN, Feb 5: Two boys were killed and two others seriously injured in a bomb explosion in the suburbs of Liaquatpur.

It is learnt that Imran Khan, a resident of Chak 138-Abbasia, Liaquatpur, brought a dud from the desert area of Cholistan on Sunday night left there after recent army exercises.

Imran and his relatives were examining the bomb at their home when it exploded. Imran died on the spot while Ayyaz Khan expired in the local Sheikh Zayed Hospital. Fayyaz Khan and Nawaz Khan were hospitalized with critical injuries.

CEMENT PRICE: Dealers and stockists in the district are charging Rs250 for a cement bag instead of Rs180.

The worst hit by this price hike are the poor labourers as they have been rendered jobless due to suspension of construction projects.

Labourers expressed their concern over the situation and urged the district government to take measures to save them from starvation.

THEFT: Thieves took away cell phones and other valuables worth Rs770,000 from the Mobile and Computer Centre at the City Centre.
