QUETTA, Feb 5: Speakers at seminars held to mark the Kashmir Solidarity Day on Monday urged the Indian government to recognise the rights of the Kashmiri people.

Leaders and activists of the PML and the APHC took out a procession from the city government premises.

The procession turned into a public meeting at the Meezan Chowk, with speakers vowing to continue supporting the just struggle of Kashmiri freedom fighters.

Manzoor Kakar, Shah Zaman Khilji, Abid Lehri, Mir Ismail Lehri Chaudhary Shabbir of the PML, Quetta, and APHC executive committee member Syed Abbas Rizvi addressed the meeting.

Students and women’s wings of the Jamaat-i-Islami also took out procession against the atrocities of Indian forces in occupied Kashmir.

The PML-N held a meeting at the Malakhel House. Speakers denounced the Indian government’s excesses against innocent people in held Kashmir.

Speakers in all three meetings assured the freedom fighters that the people and the government of Pakistan would continue to support them.

The speakers said India would never be able to suppress the Kashmiris’ struggle.

Leaders of different political parties said the Indian government must respect the aspirations of the oppressed people of occupied Kashmir and grant independence to them.

They also demanded that Kashmiri political parties be given representation in the talks being held between Pakistan and India.
