KARACHI, Feb 5: Expressing complete solidarity with the people of Kashmir, the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) has warned the rulers that the PPP would put up stiff resistance if they try to strike any ‘deal’ on Kashmir.
A large number of PPP workers including women activists gathered outside the Karachi Press Club on Monday to express solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiri people in their struggle for the right to self-determination on the Kashmir Solidarity Day.
PPP workers brought several rallies from different city areas and converged at the KPC for the meeting, which was organised by the PPP, Azad Kashmir, Karachi Division. Carrying banners and placards, the PPP workers raised slogans against the state atrocities in the Indian-held Kashmir and also against the rulers for striking any possible deal on Kashmir.
PPP Deputy Secretary-General Mian Raza Rabbani, president Sindh Chapter Syed Qaim Ali Shah, leader of the Opposition in the Sindh Assembly, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Safdar Abbasi, Rashid Rabbani, Waqar Mehdi and Qazi Bashir advocate addressed the rally.
The PPP leaders said that Kashmir was an integral part of Pakistan and the PPP always raised its voice for the people of Kashmir and it would continue its struggle till the achievement of rights of the oppressed Kashmiri people.
They demanded of immediate withdrawal of Indian Army from the held Kashmir and urged both the Indian and Pakistan governments to resolve this longstanding issue in line with the UN resolutions.
The PPP leaders also warned the rulers that from Karachi to Khyber, the party workers would put up stiff resistance if they tried to strike any deal or compromise on the issue of Kashmir.
