LAHORE, Feb 4: Four-year-old bay filly Big Show stole the limelight winning the 1000 Guineas Of Pakistan run over 1600m during the 23rd Lahore winter Meeting at the Racecourse on Sunday.

Owned by Haji Ghulam Dastgeer and trained by S. Ehtisham the filly was piloted by jockey M. Nasir 11. The filly's performance enabled her to move from above standard classics into realm of potential greatness.

The fillies — Top Cat and Eswarah — finished second and third respectively. The 1000 Guineas race was worth Rs300,000 to the winner plus a cup valued at Rs10,000 and distinction of being country's top filly.

The owner, trainer and jockey trio returned home with a weighty satchel, as they also won the last race of the day through three-year-old colt, Fair Diamond to complete a good double.

Three-year-old bay filly Chanela owned by Malik Hamid Ali Noon and trained by Haji Fazal Hadi powered on distance away to win the Anarkali Cup over 1200m defeating Oriental Affair. Jockey M. Hanif rode the winner.

Hot favourite bay colt, Total Surprise won the Nero Cup contested over 1400m. Ridden by Aamir Pervez and trained by I. Nawab the winner beat Golden Goal by a distance's margin. The Conqueror's and Harry Can View completed the frame.

The Class I, II and III combined race was won by Go With The Wind ably partnered by jockey Shahid Rehman.

Trained by Sohail Aziz the imported filly beat another filly Dexterity by four lengths. The victory of Go With The Wind gave jockey Shahid Rehman his third winner when earlier he rode home Little Legend, Flying Pet in the second and third race.

Karachi’s jockey M. Nasir 11 also got the distinction of riding home three winners in Lethal Force, Big Show and Fair Diamond. Jockey Aamir Pervez also rode two winners.
