BNP-M leader released

QUETTA, Feb 4: Balochistan National Party (Mengal) vice-president Sajid Tareen has been released following the bail granted by the sessions court.The additional sessions judge of Quetta, Murad Ali Baloch, accepted the bail application of the petitioner and ordered that the applicant should be released following filing of Rs100,000 surety bond.

It may be recalled that Sajid Tareen was detained on December 12, 2006, under the MPO by the Capital City Police Officer, Quetta, however, the Balochistan High Court had declared his detention as unlawful.

Police had registered five different cases against the BNP-M leader but the Balochistan High Court, the Anti-Terrorist Court and the sessions court had granted him bail in all five cases and finally he was freed on Saturday night.
