LARKANA, Feb 2: Doctors affiliated with the Chandka Medical College, continuing protest against alleged misbehaviour of MQM Senator Dr Mohammad Ali Brohi with CMC Principal Prof Surgeon Sikandar Shaikh, observed a two-hour token protest here on Friday.

The protest call was given by the Pakistan Medical Association, Larkana chapter.

Senior doctors including Prof Aijaz Memon, Dr Hafeez Abro, Dr Shahida Shaikh, Dr Hakim Abro and others, assembled in the administration block and staged a silent protest.

Meanwhile, the Chandka Staff Union (lower staff) led by its president Hakim Tunio demonstrated on the college premises to protest against the incident.

In a fax and e-mail addressed to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief president of Larkana Pakistan Medical Association, Dr Waheed, asked Altaf Hussain to ‘look into our pain, suffering and disgrace caused by a senator who belongs to your party.’

Dr Waheed termed it a case of human dignity, ethical behaviour and more of a social responsibility.

He said that the principal was a senior professor, a surgeon par excellence, a teacher of great stature and commanded respect in the society.

He said that elements like Senator Brohi were causing damage to Mr Hussain’s party and cause.

“We look towards you for justice as we feel that you have founded and are running the party on the principles of peace, equality and justice,” the e-mail concluded.
