KARACHI, Feb 2: Modest shipping activity was witnessed at the port where three ships to load and unload containers, and furnace oil were accommodated on berths at QICT, and Fotco oil terminal, respectively, during the last 24 hours, says a press release.

Berth occupancy remained at 50 per cent at the port where five ships occupied berths to load and unload containers, furnace oil and iron ore, respectively, during the same period.

The port handled a cargo volume of 76,546 tons comprising of 61,620 tons imports and 14,926 tons exports, inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 1,949 containers (Teus).

The ships currently at the outer anchorage are Luciana (containers); Maersk Arkansas (containers; and MSC Panama (containers).Two ships were expected to sail on Friday.
