Rs8m looted, guard killed

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Feb 1: Three gunmen killed a security guard and looted Rs8 million, meant to be deposited in a bank located on the Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) premises here on Thursday.

The dacoits were waiting outside the bank in a car, knowing well that the deposit of cash was a daily routine, said hospital sources.

As a cashier arrived with a cash bag along with security guards at 12:40pm, the dacoits snatched the bag, said the sources, adding that when the guards, accompanying the cashier, tried to resist, the dacoits opened fire.

One of the guards, Afsar Khan, was killed on the spot and another was seriously injured.
