Curfew relaxed

Published February 2, 2007

HANGU, Feb 1: The district administration on Thursday relaxed the curfew in Hangu for two hours from 12 noon to 2pm, as the town remained calm but tense after two days of violent incidents.

Army and paramilitary troops backed by armoured personnel carriers are patrolling main streets in the troubled town where three rocket shells have found been in different areas.

Police said a live shell was found near the Faizullah mosque, another was recovered from the premises of Police Lines and the third was found at the busy Warasta chowk. They said the shells had probably been fired during the two days of clashes but they had not exploded.
