Kenya record easy victory

Published February 2, 2007

NAIROBI, Feb 1: Thomas Odoyo took three wickets as the Kenyan seamers dominated Holland to set up a crushing seven-wicket victory in their second match of the ICC World Cricket League at the Nairobi Gymkhana Club on Wednesday.

Odoyo negotiated the way by removing the two openers Bas Zuiderent and Darron Reekers with Peter Ogondo and spinner Hiren Varaiya adding another two apiece to bowl out the tourists for 131.

In reply, Kenya made a bright start with openers Maurice Ouma and David Obuya, the heroes of the first match against Bermuda putting on 50 runs for the first wicket.

Ouma's battling 47 was enough to earn him the man of the match and was enough to silence the pundits who have been critical on the under-performing opener.
