LAHORE, Feb 1: An exhibition of paintings by a Bangladeshi artist, Mohammad Eunus, will open at Hamail Art Gallery on M M Alam Road on Feb 5.

Punjab Cooperatives Minister Malik Anwar Khan will inaugurate the exhibition.

Eunus is an associate professor at the Institute of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka.

He did his Masters of Fine Arts in 1987 from Tama Arts University of Foreign Studies, Japan. He has a number of solo and group exhibitions to his credit in the country and abroad.

Eunus says about himself: “My works are something like ‘Carmen,’ a poem that contains million metaphors.”

He said in his works he has always transferred his beliefs, emotions and passion. The artist has his inspiration in paintings from almost anything, the vertical shape of a guitar, the curve of a human figure, movement of a sea-fish, a cluster of cloud, a melody or a symphony of a song or story, etc.

The exhibition will continue till Feb 15.
