LAHORE, Jan 31: Twelve regions will take part in the first Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Inter-region under-15 tournament, starting in different cities from Feb 13. The competition is part of the PCB talent hunt programme.
The regions have been divided into three pools. Top team from each group will compete in the triangular stage, followed by the final between the best two teams.
Pool 'A' comprises Quetta, Hyderabad, Karachi and Multan while pool 'B' consists of Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Lahore and Faisalabad. Pool 'C' has Peshawar, Abbottabad, Islamabad and FATA.
Pool 'A' matches will be played in Karachi while pool 'B' matches in Sheikhupura, Lahore, Faisalabad and Rawalpindi.
Pool 'C' teams will compete in Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, and Mirpur (Azad Jammu and Kashmir).
The triangular stage will start at the LCCA ground, Lahore, from Feb 20 and the final will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium on Feb 24.
Man-of-the-Match of the preliminary round will get Rs2,000 while of the triangular stage Rs3,000. Man-of-the-Match of the final will receive Rs5,000. Best batsman, bowler, wicket-keeper and all-rounder of the tournament will be honoured with a cash prize of Rs10,000 each.
Winner of the tournament will receive a purse of Rs50,000 and the runner-up Rs30,000.
