Man kills wife over karo-kari

JACOBABAD, Jan 31: A woman was killed allegedly by her husband on the pretext of karo-kari near the Jhongal village in Thul on Wednesday. Mohammad Yaqoob allegedly attacked his wife Maqsooda with an axe and escaped after killing her. No FIR was lodged till the filing of this report.

THREE HELD: Three bandits were arrested near Mahar Shah Pir on the National Highway in the Abad police area, Jacobabad, on Tuesday night.

Police tried to stop a speedy car while patrolling the National Highway, but the occupants tried to flee. Police cordoned off the area and arrested Shahzado Essani, Gulsher Brohi and Papoo alias Nadir. Two Kalashnikovs and one TT pistol were recovered from their possession.
