KARACHI: Allottees asked to clear plot dues

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Jan 29: The city government has decided to take stern action against those who have defaulted on their outstanding dues vis-à-vis the plots and houses allotted to them under various plot and housing schemes by the now-defunct Karachi Development Authority (KDA).

A spokesman for the city government said that the action against defaulters might include cancellation of lease of the property, which would eventually be re-auctioned.

He said the allottees of the residential and commercial plots of the schemes announced from January 1, 1985 to November 6, 1996 were being given the last chance to clear their outstanding dues as soon as possible and complete all formalities for possession. In case of failure, he added, such properties would be re-auctioned and the amount already paid by the defaulting owner would be forfeited.

The defaulters have been advised contact the district officer (recovery) in this regard.
