KARACHI, Jan 27: A group of 12 members from different departments of Kennedy School of Harvard University, the USA visited Dow University of Health Sciences on Saturday.

DUHS Vice Chancellor Prof Masood Hameed Khan briefed the delegation, including team coordinator Douglas Levina, on development works and ongoing projects of the university.

He told the delegation that these types of visits would be helpful for briefing students about different educational institutes of the world and their standard of education.

He said the Civil Hospital was the biggest and Dow Medical College was the oldest college of Karachi.

To overcome the shortage of trained human resources in medical field, the Dow varsity established Dow International Medical College, Dental College, Nursing Institute and Institute of Medical Technology. He said there were about 3,000 MBBS students and 400 postgraduate students in the university.

Mr Douglas said the purpose of their visit was to get aware of the education standard in different institutes of Pakistan. They also visited different departments of the university.

DUHS Registrar Dr Mahar Hansotia, Institute of Global Health Director Prof Berman, Dow Medical College Principal Prof Salauddin Afsar were also present.—PPI
