KARACHI: Pak Marines’ 27th batch passes out


KARACHI, Jan 27: Swearing in to safeguard the ideological base, geographical frontiers and sanctity of the country, a batch of Pak Marines upon completion of 42-week rigorous training, passed out from the Marines Academy, PNS Qasim, Manora, on Saturday morning.

Rear Admiral Mahmood Ahmed Khan, commander of logistics, reviewed the passing out parade as the chief guest, says a press release issued here on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion the chief guest said that to discharge the sacred duty of defending the motherland, all segments of the Pakistan Navy were playing their due role and putting in their best to accomplish the assigned tasks. However, the highly adverse environment of marshy lands, muddy areas and extreme weather makes the role of Pak Marines very important and unique in nature.

Rear Admiral M.A Khan further said that Pak Marines over the last 16 years of its establishment had earned the honour of being professionally sound and capable naval wing by means of its steadfastness, dedication and commitment to duty. He said that in the present-day regional maritime scenario, Pak Marines had added responsibilities of defending the sea frontiers of the motherland. “This demands to acquaint yourselves with the best use of available arms and weapons and achieve professional excellence to meet the challenges of fast-changing security environment,” he added.

The commander of logistics said that Pak Marines’ role in the creek areas and their efforts in combating natural disasters had always been commendable.

Earlier in his welcome address Commander of Marines Commodore Muhammad Iqbal Bajwa highlighted the salient features of marines training. Later, the chief guest gave away prizes to the winners. The ceremony was attended by a large number of senior naval officers, officers and parents of marines.—PPI
