Claim on firing along LoC rejected

By Mohammad Yasin

RAWALPINDI, Jan 26: A Pakistan Army spokesman has rejected the claim of an Indian Army spokesman about an exchange of fire between Pakistani and Indian forces along the Line of Control, and described it as a fabricated story.

An official handout issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) here on Friday said that no incident of exchange of fire had taken place along the Line of Control in the Poonch Sector.

However, he said, on Jan 25 (Thursday night) at about 7pm, Indian troops resorted to firing illuminating rounds followed by small arms fire in their own area across the working boundary in Jammu District of occupied Kashmir.
