RAWALPINDI, Jan 26: Two robberies were committed while five vehicles were stolen from different parts of the city on Thursday, police said. Waqar Ahmed complained to the Airport police that three robbers entered his house and held his family at gunpoint. They snatched jewellery and a cell phone from the inmates and escaped after locking them in a room.
Shahbaz Ahmed complained to the Airport police that five robbers entered his shop and made away with 20,000 in cash and calling cards valuing Rs4,000.
Meanwhile, Abdul Sattar’s car was stolen from the Civil Lines area, Fareeda Amjad’s car (HY-503) was taken away from Saddar, Sheikh Qasir’s car was stolen from outside his house in Pirwadhai, Zulfiqar Ali’s pick-up van was stolen from New Town, while Amir Sohail’s car (HE-655) was lifted from the Civil Lines area.
WOMAN KILLED: Meanwhile, some unknown perons butchered a woman in her house in the jurisdiction of Shahzad Town police in the wee hours of Friday, police said.
Tahira Bibi, 42, wife of Muhammad Ibrar, was asleep when some persons entered her house and slaughtered her. The incident came to light when her husband, Ibrar, came back from duty in the early hours of Friday morning and found his wife murdered.
The body was shifted to the Pims for autopsy.
Muhammad Ibrar has been working at a private security company. Police said some cash had been found missing. A case has been registered and investigation started.
