KARACHI, Jan 26: Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim and chief of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement Altaf Hussain have condemned the suicide bomb blast that took place outside a hotel in the prime security zone in Islamabad on Friday.
Dr Arbab, in a statement issued here on Friday, expressed concern over the breach of security and loss of life in the blast.
MQM chief, in a statement issued from London, said that this suicide blast in Islamabad was a cause of concern for the entire country.
He called upon the president and prime minister to take a serious notice of Friday’s blast advising them to take future measures to ensure safety of life and property of the masses. Mr Hussain said that terrorist elements were bent upon destroying the peace and harmony of the country.
Expressing grief over the death of the security officials in the blast, he prayed for the departed soul and for the speedy recovery of those who got injured.
In another statement, Mr Hussain condemned police action on the journalists who were performing their duties at the scene of the incident. He urged the president and the premier to take action against the police officials responsible for baton charging media men.
