KARACHI, Jan 26: Modest shipping activity was witnessed at the port where two ships to load, unload containers and edible oil were allotted berths at QICT and MPT, respectively, during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release.

Meanwhile, two more container ships arrived at the outer anchorage during the report period.

Berth occupancy remained moderate at the port where five ships occupied berths to load, unload containers, edible oil, diesel oil and livestock, respectively, during the same period.

The port handled a cargo volume of 42,112 tons comprising 40,752 tons of imports and 1,360 tons of exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 305 containers (Teus).

The ships currently at the outer anchorage are: Maersk Arkansas (containers), Sima Pars (containers) and Eastern Amenity (chemicals).

Herford Express sailed out to the sea on Thursday.
