BD call up uncapped batsman


DHAKA, Jan 25: Bangladesh have named uncapped opening batsman Tamim Iqbal in a 15-man one-day squad for next month's Zimbabwe tour. Bangladesh will play four One-day Internationals against Zimbabwe on Feb 4, 6, 9 and 10, at Harare Sports Club.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board selectors also recalled pace bowlers Tapash Baisya and Mohammad Sharif and middle order batsman Tushar Imran.

The selectors, however, axed long-serving wicket-keeper Khaled Mashud for his thumb injury. Mushfiqur Rahim will replace Mashud.Left-arm pacer Syed Rasel and all-rounder Farhad Reza have been dropped from the squad.

In the latest meeting in December, Bangladesh thrashed Zimbabwe and clinched 5-0 limited-overs series in the South Asian nation.Zimbabwe are currently ranked one place below Bangladesh at No 10 in the ICC ODI rankings.
