Boy’s kidnappers arrested

MUZAFFARGARH, Jan 25: Police claimed to have arrested the alleged kidnappers of a boy from Alipur on Thursday. Muzaffargarh District Police Officer Rai Tahir said at a press conference here that Kausar Suhail was kidnapped from Karimabad last week. The kidnappers took him to Alipur in a wagon. Later, they demanded Rs1 million ransom from his father Qasim, an accountant in a textile mills. However, they agreed to Rs300,000 ransom. They released the boy soon after receiving the money.

A police party investigated the boy and then raided the home where he was kept for five days. Police arrested the house owner, Tariq Ismail who disclosed the names of others, including ringleader Allah Dad of Tranda Muhammad Panah, Ilyas Raza, Qasim, Bilal and a Naib Tehsildar’s son, Ausaf ijaz.

He said police also recovered six mobile phones and four pistols from their possession. However, ransom money has yet to be recovered, he added.
