LAHORE, Jan 24: Four goals by Jose Rivas and three by Usman Haye helped defending champions Bank Alfalah trounce Wateen Telecom 8-4 in the Lindt Aibak polo cup on Wednesday.
A first minute goal by Eduardo Zorilla, supported by two goal handicap, helped Wateen Telecom lead first chukker 3-2.
Zorilla converted a 60-yard penalty hit with a lofted shot.
For the winners, Rivas scored his first in the similar fashion and then Usman scored to reduce the lead.
In second chukker, Usman scored his second goal through a field attempt to equalise the score 3-3 but Shaukat Ali Malik took Wateen ahead (4-3) scoring a field goal after receiving angular pass from Zorilla.
The winners scored five more goals, including a hat-trick by Rivas in next two chukkers to prove their superiority.
Rivas completed the hat-trick in the third chukker to give the winners 6-4 lead. He converted 30 and 40 yard penalty hits, followed by a field goal after a long chase of the ball.
Maintaining the attacking game, the bankers added two more goals in the fourth chukker through Usman and Faaiz Rahim Khan to complete the tally.
