GGHS Saidu Sharif win cricket title

PESHAWAR, Jan 23: Government Girls High School Saidu Sharif Swat defeated Municipal Public School by 10 runs in the final to win the inaugural National Under-17 Girls Cricket Tournament here at the BISE Ground on Tuesday.

Electing to bat first, Saidu Sharif reached 114 before losing all their wickets in 22.3 overs. Openers Zamarud (33 with four boundaries) and Tabassum (20) provided a solid stand of 53. Kainat (16) was the other noteworthy contributor. For Municipal Public School Maliha grabbed three wickets for seven runs in her three overs while Sundas and Safia claimed two wickets each.

In reply, Municipal Public School were bowled out for 104 with Somi (27) Sumaira (25) and Laiba (20) being the leading scorers. For Saidu Sharif Shamia claimed 4-20 in her four overs while Habiba and Zamarud captured two wickets each.—APP
