SWABI, Jan 22: Two police constables of the Kalu Khan police station were suspended by the District Police Officer after a handcuffed injured prisoner escaped from their custody at the Kalu Khan civil hospital.

A police official told Dawn on Monday that Riaz Khan, his brother Mumtaz and Usman Ali had been injured after an exchange of fire over a three Marla land in Managi village.

They were admitted to the LRH in Peshawar.

The FIR was lodged against Fazal Mohammad, Sherin Zada, Saleh Mohammad, Bahadar, Mohammad Zamin, Fateeh Mohammad and Sameen Khan.

Among those named in the FIR, Saleh Mohammad was injured slightly and was admitted to the Kalu Khan hospital.

Two constables, Rahat Khan and Fazal Hadi, were deputed to keep a watch over Mr Saleh in the hospital and they came to know his escape when they woke up from the sound sleep.
