KARACHI: Two killed in accidents

KARACHI, Jan 22: Reckless driving claimed lives of a police constable and a motorcyclist on Monday.

A dumper ran over Constable Safdar Ali, 50, while he was crossing Sharea Faisal in Airport police jurisdiction. He was posted in Orangi Town police station.

In another hit-and-run accident, a motorcyclist Shahid Akram, 35, was knocked down in Korangi double road area. He was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where doctors declared him dead.

BUS TORCHED: Enraged youths set an intercity bus on fire at Five Star Roundabout, North Nazimabad in Taimuria police precinct. Police said the bus (E-9619) slightly hit a motorcyclist. After exchange of words with the driver, some youth torched the bus and escaped.
