LAHORE, Jan 21: The fancied bay English filly Go With The Wind flew home to land the Epsom Cup run over 1600 metres during the Lahore Winter Meeting at the Racecourse on Sunday.

The filly took a flying start and led all the way home to win by one and a half lengths from French bay horse Conflict. Naseeb finished third nosing out Brummell to fourth position.

Go With The Wind clocked one min 37 4/5 secs over the distance.

A race earlier the champion colt, Toru Khan further consolidated his claim to become the leading contender for the Pakistan Derby 2007, when winning the Colts and Fillies Trial Cup, a term race for four-year-old Pakistani colts and fillies run over 1800 metres.

He beat Chan by five and a half lengths. Nosha ran third while Jut Bahadur completed the frame. Almost all the main Derby contenders participated in the race, which perhaps was instituted to provide them an opportunity to measure each other’s strides over the distance and asses their staying ability.

Toru Khan proved his worth clocking one min 53 seconds, equalling the record time set by his stable-mate Trace Hit in October last year. This was Toru Khan's fifth victory in a row.

Four-year-old bay filly Lovely Gate defied top weight of nine stones three pounds to eclipse her one dozen rivals to win the Qutubuddin Aibak Cup run over 1400m. She beat Puma The Great.

The Sapphire Cup, run over 1400 metres was annexed by Golden Goal. The bay colt beat Trace Kim by about two lengths.
