LONDON, Jan 21: Arsenal stormed back from a goal down to beat Manchester United 2-1 in an engrossing Premier League contest on Sunday.

Wayne Rooney's diving header after 53 minutes looked set to extend United's lead at the top to nine points but Robin Van Persie levelled after 82 minutes and Thierry Henry headed a dramatic winner in stoppage time.

United remain on 57 points from 24 games, six more than Chelsea who were beaten 2-0 by Liverpool on Saturday. Liverpool have 46 with Arsenal on 45.

Earlier Wigan Athletic's relegation fears intensified when two goals from Mikel Arteta gave Everton a 2-0 away victory.
