Traders criticise loadshedding

KHAIRPUR, Jan 21: Trade organisations of Khairpur have criticised unannounced load-shedding in the city for the last one month.

Talking to newsmen on Sunday, president of Anjuman-i-Tajiran Qutubuddin Shaikh, president of Anjuman-e-Sarafa Association, Hussain Bux Abbasi, president of Cloth Association, Qaimuddin Shaikh, president of Muttahida Mazdoor Federation, Comrade Shahbaz Dino Phulpoto and Amjad Lashari said that at a meeting of district administration, convened to discuss arrangements for Muharram on Saturday, the Hesco officials assured that no load-shedding would be carried out during Muharram but, immediately after the meeting, power supply was cut-off for about three hours.

They added that during the last 24 hours, power remained suspended for about 11 hours, and the practice was going on for the last one month.

They said that such practice has compelled them as well as other citizens to protest against Hesco.

GHINWA: The chairperson of PPP- SB, Ms Ghinwa Bhutto, condoling with he family members of late Makhdoom Rafique, chief editor of Sindhi daily ‘Nijaat’, said here on Saturday that he was one of those who struggled for restoration of democracy.

She said that it was failure of the law enforcing agencies that they had not arrested the murderers of a journalist.

JSQM CHIEF: The Chairman of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM), Bashir Khan Qureshi, has said that the parliamentary politics could not ensure rights to the people and urged the nationalist parties of the two provinces to join hands and restore their rights.

Talking to newsmen in Mehrabpur on Saturday might, he said that parliamentary politics could not save the lives of Z.A.Bhutto and Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti and could also not be able to end the ongoing operation in Balochistan.

To a question, he said that he was ready to hold negotiations with Mr. Arisar under the supervision of Syed Ameer Hyder Shah, the son of late G.M. Syed, however he wanted writers, poets and journalists to be witnesses to such talks.
