PESHAWAR: Pesco to stop supply to defaulting depts

By Our Correspondent

PESHAWAR, Jan 21: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) has decided to discontinue electricity supply to government departments if they fail to clear their dues within a stipulated period.

The decision was made at a recent meeting held under the chairmanship of the company’s chief executive, Brig Sakhi Marjan. Brig Marjan instructed senior officials of his company to recover the dues from all defaulters.

He said a ‘disconnection campaign’ would have to be launched against all defaulters, including government departments. He warned that stern action would be initiated against the Wapda officials who failed to meet the targets set for them.

The chief executive of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company also took serious notice of some complaints regarding over-billing and mismanagement of load in some areas.

He warned the officials involved to stop this practice and said those found guilty would be liable to stern disciplinary action.
