KARACHI, Jan 21: Sindh Minister for Environment and Alternative Energy Dr Saghir Ahmed expressed grave concern over the loss of life and property in the recent fire that destroyed a factory in Site area, and said that industrial organisations should realise their responsibilities to make the safety system in industrial areas effective.

He said in a statement that fire-brigade vehicles and ambulances faced problems during the rescue operation, and noted that workers faced grave risks.

He asked industrialists to pay compensation to heirs of those falling victim to such incidents and also provide treatment and other assistance to the injured people. He asked industrials to adhere to the environment laws.—PPI
