KARACHI, Jan 21: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan has said the efforts of the government made over the last few years have helped improve the city's image across the world and the city has become a hallmark of peace.

Speaking at the concluding ceremony of the three-day Sindh Festival on Saturday night, the governor appreciated the cooperation extended in this regard by the private sector, NGOs and people.

Dr Ishratul Ibad went round various stalls and portions of the festival and mingled with the people who were present there in large numbers.

He paid tribute to the coordinator of the festival for successfully arranging the same for three consecutive years.

Karachi is witnessing huge development activity besides a tremendous increase in its cultural activities, he pointed out, adding: “These festivals and activities are reflective of the fact the city has become a hallmark of peace”.

The governor witnessed stalls of different districts of the province besides those of the navy, army and rangers in addition to other activities at the festival.

He expressed love for children who came to see the festival and shook hands with them.

Dr Ibad also witnessed laser show, fireworks and a display staged by the Pakistan rangers involving torches.

Later, he gave away shields to those who rendered outstanding performance in the arrangement of the festival. — APP
