Bilal stars in KCCA inter-club event


KARACHI, Jan 20: Mohammad Bilal smashed a brilliant 87 to power Fact Date Cricket Club to a seven-wicket win over Young Boys Cricket Club in a NBP-KCCA Inter Club Championship match at the Punjab Ground here on Friday.

Bilal belted 12 boundaries and a six while Irfan Ali (57) blasted four 4s an a brace of sixes as Fact Date CC reached the target of 184 in 29 overs while losing three wickets.

Meanwhile, at the Student Ground, Mohammad Zamir Khan Memorial Cricket Club outplayed Federal Sports by 94 runs thanks to the fine performances from Kamil Khan and Farhan Anwar.

Kamil hit eight fours in his 74 and Asad Baig got 60 with five hits to the ropes as Mohammad Zamir Khan Memorial CC made 253-5 in 40 overs. In response, Federal Sports were bowled out for 159 in 31 overs. Pacer Farhan Noor picked four wickets for 22 and Ameeruddin claimed 3-39.

In the meantime, spinners’ duo of Omar Aslam and Ahsan Butt shared eight wickets between them but their team OK Sports still ended with a 13-run defeat against the AO Cricket Club at the Asghar Ali Shah Stadium with the winners posting 152 before being bowled out in 32.4 overs and then dismissing OK Sports for 139 in 35 overs.
