KARACHI, Jan 19: The State Bank has advised the general public not to accept the old Rs5 note which was demonetised on July 1, 2005.
The federal cabinet had decided to introduce new Rs5 note and asked the SBP to take necessary steps for the launching of the new note, said a press release issued here on Friday.
The old note was no more a legal tender, it warned.
The Rs5 coin would continue to remain in circulation, it added.
