Tendulkar set to equal record

NAGPUR, Jan 19: Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar is set to catch up with Sri Lankan veteran Sanath Jayasuriya as most capped ODI player when he turns out for India in series opener against West Indies on Sunday. Tendulkar, 33, has played in 374 One-day Internationals so far in which he has amassed 14,537 runs, as compared to former Lanka skipper's tally of 11,442 from 375 matches. Tendulkar, named vice-captain for ODI series, has also scored more ODI hundreds and fifties than Marauder from Matara, 40 and 74 against Jayasuriya's 23 and 61.—Agencies
