JHANG, Jan 19: A dacoit was killed by villagers in an exchange of fire following a dacoity on Thursday night in Sangra Saadat village in Chiniot tehsil. Reports said that six armed dacoits entered the house of a landlord and started collecting cash and valuables. The hue and cry raised by inmates attracted villagers who gathered outside the house.

The dacoits opened fire on villagers which was retaliated. Later, the encounter that lasted for some 20 minutes left one dacoit, later identified as Nazeer Ahmed Haral, dead. While his five accomplices managed to escape from the scene in the darkness.

Police in several cases of murder and dacoity wanted the deceased dacoit.

HEALTH SECTOR: The district government will spend Rs15 million on providing additional facilities and upgrading the existing ones in the health sector.
