Lahore Ravi struggle against Islamabad

By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, Jan 18: Only 32 overs’ play could be possible in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Silver League match between Lahore Ravi and Islamabad on the first day because of poor visibility at the LCCA Ground on Thursday.

At close of play, Lahore Ravi were 59 for three in 32 overs, after Islamabad skipper Rao Iftikhar won the toss and chose to field first. But only one over could be bowled before the play was stopped when the light got dull. Once the game resumed at 2.00pm, Lahore Ravi lost openers Rizwan Ahmed and Rizwan Aslam quickly to Test discard Azhar Mahmood.

After tea, Nasir Jamshed (20 not out) and skipper Kashif Siddique (18) took the total to 52, before the latter was caught by Ashar Zaidi off Rauf Akbar.
