HYDERABAD, Jan 18: Seven candidates including four for the post of president and three for the position of secretary will contest the elections at the Regional Cricket Association (RCA) Hyderabad on Saturday here at the Niaz Stadium under the supervision of Javed Zaman, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) election commissioner.
Mir Hyder Talpur, Hamid Nasir Mahmood (both Hyderabad), Syed Zahir Hussain Shah (Sukkur) and Hyder Ali Unnar (Larkana) are in the field for the post of president RCA whereas Barkat Ali (Shikarpur), Abdul Aleem Ansari (Sukkur) and Shakeel Ahmed Qureshi (Hyderabad) are contesting for the post of RCA secretary. Faqir Aizazuddin and Pir Moazzam-ul-Haq, who were contesting for the post of president, withdrew their candidatures.
Meanwhile, Pir Moazzam-ul-Haq (president), Javed Chandio (secretary) and Pervez Ahmed Chandio (treasurer) were elected unopposed in the District Cricket Association (DCA) Dadu’s elections held recently under the supervision of Javed Zaman.
The newly elected DCA Dadu immediately held its first meeting and nominated other DCA office-bearers.
Haji Gul Mohammad Malkani was nominated as the senior vice-president, Ali Asghar Rind, Mohammad Ishaq Saqi Rajput, Akhtar Ali Shah and Basheer Ahmed as vice-presidents, Mohammad Akram Rind joint secretary, Arbab Ali Thaheem and Abdul Waheed Solangi as deputy secretaries and Saeed Ahmed Memon as the press secretary.
The DCA Executive Committee comprised Irshad Ahmed (chairman), Mushtaq Ahmed Rind, Abdul Jawwad Rahuja, Sajid Ali Soho, Nisar Ahmed Rajput, Aijaz Panwhar and Shahid Solangi.
