By Our Correspondent

BAHAWALPUR, Jan18: The parents of proclaimed offender Asif Phul has alleged that their son was killed by police along with members of Dad Potra gang near here. In a statement issued on Thursday from Kehrore Pucca, Lodhran district, Asif’s father Ahmad Bakhsh Phul, mother Laloo Mai and brother Khalid Phul accused the police of a fake encounter and demanded of higher authorities to order an inquiry into the incident.

According to them, Asif was wanted by Kehrore Pucca city police only in a ‘counter case’ lodged by a police inspector to take revenge from Asif for the registration of case against him about three years ago.

Police claimed on Saturday that Asif, 14, wanted in more than 12 cases, was killed in a police encounter near mauza Jhoke Syedan, Lal Sohanra, about 30 kilometres from here.
