QUETTA, Jan 18: Senator Mushahid Hussain, the secretary-general of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q), has said the problems of Balochistan will be resolved by implementing the recommendations of a parliamentary committee.
During a workers’ convention in Hub, he said the government was taking measures to resolve the problems of Balochistan which remained backward under successive governments.
He said the National Assembly had set up a parliamentary committee giving representation to opposition parties in order to find solution to Balochistan’s problems. He said despite hurdles, the committee gave its recommendations that the federal as well as the provincial government had implemented.
Federal and provincial governments had accelerated the development process in Balochistan to compensate for past injustices, Senator Mushahid added.
He said Iran, Uzbekistan and other Central Asian states were interested in investing in Gwadar and other areas of Balochistan.
Provincial president of the PML (Q) Jam Mir Muhammad Yousuf said the people of Balochistan believed in the stability of Pakistan and they had rejected the narrow-mined politics of the nationalists.
