KARACHI: Further cut urged in POL prices

By A Reporter

KARACHI, Jan 18: The National Labour Federation Pakistan (NLFP), while reacting to the recent reduction in the prices of petroleum products, has termed it a futile exercise on part of the government in providing relief to the poverty-stricken masses.

The rocketing prices of the daily-use commodities had broken the back-bone of the workers and their problems could not be solved with such meagre cuts in prices, said Rafiq Ahmad, president of the NLFP Karachi chapter.

The prices of petroleum products should be cut in accordance with the rates in the international market which, he said, was more than 25 per cent, so that the people could heave a sigh of relief.
