KARACHI, Jan 18: Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad on Thursday expressed sorrow over the demise of poet Mohsin Bhopali. Lauding the late poet’s services, Dr Ibad said Mohsin Bhopali and his work would be remembered for long.
Sindh Minister for Culture, Tourism and Social Welfare Rauf Siddiqui, termed Bhopali as pride of the country and said his demise was irreparable loss to Urdu literature.
Vice Chancellor University of Karachi, Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui in a condolence message, said Bhopali’s poetry mostly covered national issues. He said the late poet also played an active role for promotion of links between the Sindhi and Urdu languages.
The Anjuman-e-Taraqqi Urdu Pakistan’s Karachi chapter held a meeting with its deputy chief Umrao Tariq in chair at the Anjuman’s office in Gulshan-i-Iqbal where Bhopali’s death was condoled and participants paid glowing tribute to him for his creative art.
Daira Adab-o-Saqafat’s Syed Azfar Rizvi and general secretary Zafar Mohiuddin and Idara-e-Rooh-e-Adab Pakistan’s chairman Dr Khalid Imran Mutahir and other office bearers also offered condolences and tributes.
