Five of a family killed in accident

GUJAR KHAN, Jan 17: Three women and two children of a family were killed, while three others injured in a traffic accident on Mandra-Chakwal road in the jurisdiction of the Jatli police on Wednesday afternoon.

The victims hailed from Khushab and were travelling in a car along with a marriage party to the home of the bride in Harnal village of Mandra.

When the car (IDK-2122) reached near Syed bus stop, it skidded off the road and rammed into a tree due to speeding. As a result, three women and two boys died on the spot while two children and the driver sustained injuries. The injured were shifted to the district headquarters hospital Chakwal from where they have been taken back to their native town.

The deceased were identified as Riffat Bibi, her two-year- old son Mohammad Umer; Majeeda Begum, 32, her three-year-old son Mohammad Haris, and Sawai Bibi, 20,

While the injured were identified as Iram Bibi, 6, Hansa Bibi, 8, and driver Amjad Hussain.
