KARACHI: Bandits snatch TV reporter’s camera, kill passerby

KARACHI, Jan 16: A cyclist was killed when two robbers opened fire on Wednesday after depriving a reporter of Dawn News TV of his official video camera on the main Korangi Road near Qayyumabd.

The deceased, shifted to Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre, was identified as Jahangir Lashari, 27, of Korangi. He was a gardener at a bungalow in Defence. Daniyal Hassan, 24, was shooting footage near Qayyumabad when two motorcyclists held him hostage at gunpoint and took away his video camera and wallet containing his national identity card, credit card and Rs1,000.

The bandits also snatched the wallet of his driver, Farhan. While fleeing the dacoits opened fire killing the gardener.
