Highway blocked

NAWABSHAH, Jan 16: A large number of protesters blocked the National Highway near Sakrand to protest against killing of Pandhi Khan, a cloth merchant and demanded immediate arrest of killers on Tuesday.

They staged a sit-in on the National Highway as a result of which vehicular traffic remained suspended for about two hours.

The TPO and SHO of Sakrand reached on the site and assured them of arresting the killers soon after which the protesters dispersed peacefully. It may be mentioned here that body of Pandhi Khan 35, was recovered with torture marks near Sarwar Shah Mori, Qazi Ahmed.

Later, Amanullah Pathan, brother of deceased lodged an FIR with the Qazi Ahmed police against unknown people on Tuesday.

TEN INJURED: More than ten people received injuries in a clash between Mari and Sailachi tribesmen on a land dispute in Waryal Shah village near 60 miles on Tuesday.

The clash took place over the ownership of a government plot in the village.

Those injured were taken to a hospital.
