Six die of cold

SIALKOT, Jan 15: Six people, including two women, died of cold in the district as the mercury dipped to 1 degree Celsius on Monday.

An unidentified alleged drug addict died in Muradpur; Khan Akbar, 57, in Sialkot City; Amin, 63, in Bharokey, Daska; Rehmat Ali, 45, husband of member of Pasrur tehsil council Rafaqat Naz; trader Abdul Hameed’s wife Sakina; and trader Muhammad Ilyas’s grandmother Allah Rakhi died of cold.

Meanwhile, the entire region is in the grip of severe cold these days, as the cold winds from the occupied Jammu and Kashmir added to Chill.

Meanwhile, the villages along the boundary in Sialkot and Narowal districts are also in the grip of dense fog and mist. Dozens of cattle have also reportedly been killed due to severe cold.

The bad weather has also badly affected the seasonal and fodder crops.
