LAHORE, Jan 14: Paceman Abdur Rauf took Multan in sight of a certain victory over Lahore Shalimar after an eventful third day’s play in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Silver fixture at the LCCA Ground on Sunday.

Rauf finished with five for 42 as the home side were skittled out 120 in the second innings after conceding one-run first-innings lead and left the visitors needing a target of 120.At draw of stumps Multan were 35 for one.

Lahore Ravi, who lost the first match to Hyderabad, saw their batting crumble under pressure. Opener Rizwan Aslam failed to open his account. Nasir Jamshed, who hit 61 in the first innings, was sent back by paceman Kamran Hussain for 16, while skipper Kashif Siddique (12) and Rashid Riaz (1) both fell to Rauf.

Kamran Hussain took three wickets for 36.

Earlier, Multan were all out for 298 after resuming the day at 269-8. Left-hander Bilal Khilji (110 overnight) finished undefeated on a 204-ball 128 with 12 boundaries.
